Honors Thesis, Excel Scholars, and Independent Study

The ability to do independent research with faculty is a hallmark of a Lafayette engineering education. There are a variety of ways that students can get involved. By doing an Honors Thesis as a senior you can earn course credit (2 courses) for your research work - great preparation for graduate school. The College's Excel scholars program also provides funding for you to work with a faculty advisor. In addition, you can earn credit for individual research as an Independent Study project.

Study Abroad

Lafayette is a leader in study abroad experiences

Approximately two-thirds of engineering students have an off-campus-study experience with nearly one-third participating in a semester-long international program. There are faculty-led programs to Madrid, Spain and Bonn, Germany, and a variety of other programs to choose from.
